Compression Level? What Is That, and Why Is It Relevant?
Compression socks are measured in mmHg (or millimeters of Mercury); the higher the number, the more compression. Keep reading to find out which level works best for your needs.
Mild Compression 15-20 mmHg For daily wear, sports recovery, tired legs, and minor swelling.
First time compression socks wearer? We recommend 15-20 mmHg. This compression level is great for daily wear, travel and sports, as it helps improve circulation without being too tight. Mild compression socks help prevent Deep Veins Thrombosis (or economy class syndrome) while traveling. This compression level prevents fatigued legs from long periods of sitting or standing, while minimizing tired legs and swelling. It helps prevent the formation of varicose and spider veins during pregnancy.
Firm Compression 20-30 mmHg For medical recovery, work, mild symptoms, and athletic purposes.
The most frequently prescribed level of compression. While you don’t have to have a medical condition to use a higher compression level, this level is ideal for treating a variety of mild to moderate conditions and symptoms. Such as varicose veins, spider veins, and swelling. It’s also used for post-surgical treatment to help prevent the reappearance of varicose and spider veins. Recommended for blood clots, lymphedema, severe swelling, severe varicose veins and post-surgery. We also have many Go2 compression sock wearers who use them during and after an intense workout, and medical professionals who wear them during or after their shift.

Find Your Fit
To determine the size of the sock that best fits you, you need to measure your calf. Follow these instructions to measure correctly:
-
Measure around the widest part of your calf.
-
If you experience swelling throughout the day, it is best to measure your calves in the morning.
-
Since one calf may be larger than the other, make sure to measure both calves and use the larger measurement to pick your size.
Once you have measured your calf circumference and matched it against the size charts provided above, you can then look at your shoe size as a secondary guide to finding the right fit.
